Download our 2024 prospectus below.

Formed in 2022, The Kildare School of Acupuncture is run by its Academic Principal, Mr. Chris Mc Mahon. Chris began training in Healthcare in 2005 and has been successfully practicing from 'The Treatment Room' - a busy Traditional Chinese Medicine Clinic, which he opened in Maynooth, Co. Kildare, in 2013.

Chris has trained & studied consistently over the past 18 years, and during that time he has become a fully qualified Acupuncturist, Massage Therapist, Meditation Teacher, Tai-Chi Teacher, Chi-Kung Teacher, and he is also a fully qualified Practitioner of Chinese Herbal Medicine.

Chris is accredited annually, by the AFPA (Acupuncture Foundation Professional Association) and both he and The Kildare School of Acupuncture are also accredited annually, by Huànyíng Holistics, in Dublin. Chris has been a member of both Organisations for quite some time.

In addition, the esteemed, Master Charles Thackaberry, Head of The Irish Tai-Chi Chuan Association (ITCCA), and our lineage holder, has also reviewed and approved the syllabus content to ensure the highest standards of professional tuition in Traditional Chinese Medicine shall be delivered.

The Kildare School of Acupuncture's syllabus has also been reviewed, and very warmly approved, by our Academic Course Director, Mr. Stuart Breen. Stuart is the Founder and Lead Facilitator of Huànyíng Holistics. This syllabus has also been underwritten & insured by Brian Mullins Insurance Brokers, of Sligo, and successful graduates will be able to obtain their clinical insurance etc from this respected & established brokerage.

This Acupuncture course differs from others. For a start, it's 5 year, part-time status allows for a gentler pace of learning, and affords students greater opportunities to balance life, work & study. Also, no lectures will be delivered in July, August or December, in order to allow students adequate holidays, and so as to allow for rest & for the spending of quality time with families etc.

Most importantly, this course also has a huge focus on teaching lasting Self-Care techniques to its students. In fact, it is the primary intention of this School to create lasting well-being & strong self-care habits for its graduating students.

Unfortunately, too many therapists graduate with great marks, only to burn out within their formative years, for sadly they either do not fully understand, or where not taught, the importance of practicing daily, sustainable, self-care practices.

During this course you will be taught Self-Care Meditations, Taoist Philosophy, Chi-Kung exercises, Energy work and more! (In addition to your regular Acupuncture, Anatomy & Traditional Chinese Medicine course work).

This Acupuncture course runs through the calendar year, from January to November, annually, beginning on January 13th, 2024. Classes will run on Saturdays, twice per month, from 10am to 4.30pm. (No classes will be offered in July, August or December, for holidays etc).

These classes will be held in Maynooth, Co. Kildare, within The Treatment Room. (Lunch will be from 1pm to 2pm, and two separate 15 minute Tea/Coffee breaks will also be scheduled on lecture dates, in order to keep students fresh.)

Most classes shall be suitable for delivery via Zoom. However, the practical application of certain skills will require a student to be present in the classroom, on specific, pre-notified occasions.

Course fees are €2,500, per academic year. Payment plans are very much available.
